What 1,000 Videos a Year Taught the Dallas Cowboys About Data Workflows

Every NFL franchise runs on more than football. Behind the game footage sits a year-round content operation — cheerleader shoots, sponsor deliverables, marketing campaigns, national commercial spots, and a documentary series, often shot in parallel, often on the road. For Drew Ferguson, Director of Creative Video for the Dallas Cowboys, that means somewhere around 1,000 videos and 500-plus production shoots a year, ingested from whatever gear happens to walk through the door — iPhones, DSLRs, RED cameras, cinema glass, all of it. In this episode of Workflow Kitchen, Drew talks with iodyne’s Martin Christien about what ingest looked like before a real data workflow was in place, and what changed once it was.

“Football might be the smallest part about what we actually do.”
